Tea from the Giant Samovar on the banks of the River Wye
During the 2016 Wye Valley River festival the centre piece of the proceedings was a large copper wood fired samovar. It was used to produce hot water so that a specially blended tea provided by Monteas of Monmouth could be enjoyed for free by the festival goers. The samovar was run by Mandy Dike and Ben Rigby of ‘And Now:’ creators of artistic installations and firework displays. They split their time at the festival between organising the fireworks displayed that wowed the crowds at the end of the evenings and providing tea for thirsty revellers.
